Former CSUDH students who have completed at least one semester in a degree-seeking baccalaureate program and have lost their continuing student status can submit an application for Fall 2023.
The re-entry period for Fall 2023 is from October 1, 2022 through March 15, 2023. Please follow the application path as a “Transfer” student on Cal State Apply. Following submission of your application, you will receive email updates about the returning process.
Former undergraduate students who left in good standing or on academic notice must complete the following steps:
Spring 2023:The re-entry period for Spring 2023 is closed. The deadline was September 30, 2022.
Fall 2023: The re-entry period for Fall 2023 is from October 1, 2022 through March 15, 2023. Please follow the application path as a “Transfer” student on Cal State Apply. Following submission of your application, you will receive email updates about the returning process.
Once your re-entry form has been submitted, you will receive a readmission notification within 10 business days.
Submit Official Transcripts no later than July 15, 2022 for Fall 2022 and October 31, 2022 for Spring 2023. Official transcripts from all institutions you have attended since leaving CSUDH are required. If you have not attended any other institutions, transcripts are not required. If you do not submit official transcripts by the due date, we will not be able to process your re-entry form.
To be considered official, electronic transcripts must be sent directly from the college. CSUDH will accept electronic transcripts via the following services:

Apply for Financial Aid
CSUDH is committed to helping you find opportunities to finance your education. There are several ways to fund the cost of going to college: scholarships, grants, work-study, and loans. To find out your eligibility, please apply for Financial Aid.
The priority application period to apply for financial aid for the 2022–2023 academic year is from October 1, 2021, to April 1, 2022. However, you can still submit a financial aid application until June 30, 2023.

Formerly disqualified undergraduate students who are interested in being reinstated should contact the University Advisement Center for information regarding the process for readmission as an undergraduate student at CSUDH.

Login to your student account at My.CSUDH.edu and check your To Do List.

Access ToroMail
Avoid missing important information by checking ToroMail, your official CSUDH email account. All official communications pertaining to your Financial Aid offer, New Student Orientation, and more are sent to ToroMail. To check your email, please visit mail.toromail.csudh.edu and enter your CSUDH username and password. This is the same login information that you used to access MyCSUDH, your student portal.

Complete the COVID-19 Vaccination Self-Certification
In alignment with California State University (CSU) Policy, all students attending CSUDH are required to complete the COVID-19 Vaccination Self-Certification by November 30, 2022 for Spring 2023.

Check your Enrollment Date
Access the Student Center on MyCSUDH to locate your enrollment date and to locate any holds on your account. Please note, any hold that prevents enrollment must be removed prior to registering for courses.

Course Registration
After you have completed the COVID-19 Vaccination Self-Certification, please schedule an advising appointment. Your Advisor is an important person on your college success team. They will help you navigate the courses that you need to graduate and inform you on resources available in your Student Success Center. To schedule an appointment with your Advisor, do so through your college’s Student Success Center.

Do I need to attend New Student Orientation?
No, students who submitted the Re-Entry form and are returning to CSUDH are not required to attend in person New Student Orientation. However, students must complete online orientation at preorientation.csudh.edu.
Do I need to pay the Intent to Enroll Deposit?
No, students who submitted the Re-Entry form and are returning to CSUDH are not required to pay the Intent to Enroll Deposit.
Do I need to resubmit transcripts?
Official transcripts for all institutions you have attended since leaving CSUDH are required. Please have electronic transcripts sent directly from the institution to admissions@csudh.edu. If you didn't attend any other universities, no transcripts are required.
Can I take classes without applying to the university?
If you missed the deadline to return to CSUDH or want to take a course for units or complete a degree, you may consider registering through Open University. Open University is for students who are not matriculated to the campus but want to take a few courses. For more information about open university, visit csudh.edu/open.
What if I was supposed to graduate or had applied to graduate but left CSUDH?
If you had applied for graduation or were denied graduation because of missing requirements, you should make an appointment with an advisor to determine where you left off and the process needed to complete your missing requirements.
How do I find what classes I still need to graduate?

What if I come back after being away for 5 -15 years?

What if I retook a class to bring up my GPA?
Courses taken at another institution will not be calculated into your CSUDH GPA, only your overall GPA. If you retook courses at CSUDH, please make an appointment with an advisor to recalculate your CSUDH GPA. Click here to make an advising appointment.

How do I find out what classes I need to complete my degree?
Once you return to CSUDH, you will need to meet with your advisor to review your courses taken and determine what course you still need to graduate. Your advisor can discuss any changes to your academic plan and assist you in laying out a path towards graduation. If you have been away for more than a year, you will have new catalog rights and there may be a change to program that you will need to learn more about.
